Speed, endurance, agility and run coaching for student athletes, sports teams, and adults

Founded in 2011, Run For Performance helps train Central Ohio athletes in Track, Cross Country, Soccer, Football, Lacrosse, Basketball, or any sport that requires endurance, speed, agility, and quickness.

We also work with adults who want to learn how to become better runners, start running for the first time, improve running form, perform their best at 5k’s, 10k’s, and half/full marathons and improve overall health and fitness.

Regardless of your sport, we can help you with highly customized training that follows sound training and nutrition principles as well as help you balance your training and recovery so you can minimize or reduce the risk of getting injured.

We work with athletes at all experience and ability levels.

We coach athletes who are brand new to their sport, up through all levels of competition including youth, middle school, high school and college athletics.

The Run For Performance Difference

Experience and industry-leading certifications

Coaching is more than a “weekend certification” for us. We have years of experience (founded in 2011), and our coaches are certified through certifying agencies and organizations like NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine),  Precision Nutrition, National Strength and Conditioning Association, USA Track and Field, the Road Runners Club of America (RRCA), and more.

Each coach stays up to date by frequently attending advanced training, clinics, and continuing education training to ensure they are always up to date with the latest principles in sports performance. 

All coaches are First Aid/CPR/AED certified and undergo nationwide criminal background checks and SafeSport certification.

Individual, Evidence-Based Training

We strongly believe that our athlete’s success comes from our 12+ years of experience that follows periodized, evidence-based training methodologies. Each athlete is unique, so our training must be customized to each person to see the best results.

For 1:1 training, we customize everything 100% based on each athlete’s situation and goals. This allows us to make small adjustments and modifications based on real data and athlete feedback. We don’t just give you a bunch of workouts and tell you to follow our plan.

We are invested in each athlete and make the time to prepare for your workouts with us far before you come to our session, so each session is targeted for what needs to get done that day to get the best training adaptation.

Unlike many programs, we do not use generic, canned training plans and spreadsheets.

Training without focus and planning is exercise. It will make you healthy. But likely, it only leads to mediocre results.

We build athletes up, not tear them down

Each coach is non-judgmental, caring, supportive, and motivating. Every athlete has down days and weeks. Not every workout will be perfect.

Instead of yelling, we use positive reinforcement techniques that allow our athletes to build a fire and drive that comes from within.

We work to get the best out of every workout so that progress is made.

And based on schedule / availability, we even try to come watch you compete when we can! We are vested in your success and we love to see our athletes perform in competition!

We are a USA Track and Field member club

USA Track & Field is the governing body of the sports of track & field, long distance running, and race walking in the United States.  

Its mission is to “foster sustained competitive excellence, interest, and participation in the sports of track & field, long distance running, and race walking.”  

As a USATF member club, we are committed to help move their mission forward.

We are not a “running club”. We support Central Ohio adults and athletes who want to develop in the sport of Track and Field and/or long distance running regardless of their level of participation and competitiveness.  

We support our community and schools where we live and work

Run For Performance financially supports many local schools’ athletic boosters. We believe in the power of sport and athletics and want to make sure everyone, regardless of ability, race, gender, or background, has access to the benefits that sport has to offer. 

All coaching sessions are held in Lewis Center, Ohio.

We are based in Lewis Center. However, we coach athletes from all over Central Ohio.
