Central Ohio Speed and Sprint Coaching

Our proven off-season Track/speed prep program is ideal for athletes of any skill level who wants structured training to get ready for their outdoor Track season or any sport that requires top end speed at 400M or less. We keep group sizes so we can spend time assisting each athlete, while still building a team-culture approach to training.

At RFP, workouts aren’t just about conditioning in a big box gym. Each session is held on a “real track”, planned, structured and tied into a bigger training program so athletes improve week over week with a goal to be season-ready.

Athletes who do not train over the Winter spend half their season or more catching up to those who do.

Each session is led by experienced coaches who have coached MS and HS athletes at every level of competition.

Depending on the where we are at in the training cycle, Athletes will work on standing / block starts, acceleration, max speed, breathing techniques, reaction drills, explosiveness/power development, race strategy, running form, sports nutrition, mental preparation, and more. We do not coach hurdles (although we can coach starts, acceleration, and speed/endurance.

Do you have questions?

What does small group training look like?

We offer groups for middle school and high school athletes. We keep group sizes small so each athlete has the opportunity to receive individualized attention when needed. Last year we had 4-7 athletes in a typical session. This is what we prefer as coaches. Each session is led by highly experienced coaches who have coached MS and HS athletes at every level of competition. Meet our coaches

Each session is approximately an hour long. Each sessions starts with a warmup and form/technique drills. This prepares each athlete for their workout and helps reenforce good form, technique and muscle activation.

During the warm-up we will ask each athlete about what they accomplished on their own since we last met as well as discuss progress, and answer any questions they have about their training, etc. (We guide the group on what they should work on individually between sessions).

After the warm-up, we start the main workout. Based on the experience of the athlete, how their week went, or based on progress, we may tweak the workout to that athlete. This is a big benefit of our small group size vs. holding large groups with no individualization.
As we get closer to their season, our training gets specific to their anticipated event, if known.

At the end of each workout, we do a brief cool-down and discuss what each athlete should work on during the upcoming week. The group works as a team, regardless of each athletes ability or background.

* We do not coach field events, jumps. throws, or hurdle technique (However, Hurdlers would benefit from the running and speed development).
